Magda Linnet qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA Championships in Strasbourg. The eighth seed from Poznan defeated Heather Watson of Great Britain 6:1, 6:1 on Tuesday.
The Briton is currently ranked 105th in the world rankings. The highest place – 38 – in this ranking was in January 2015. In her career, she won four championships. In the duel with the pole (56th WTA), she did not have many advantages to successfully oppose it.

And Lynette, who ousted Russia’s Warwara Graseva in the first round, plays in the quarter-finals with the winner of the match between Belarusian Alexandra Sasnowic and second-ranked German Angelique Kerber.
Katarzina Peter plays doubles in Strasbourg. Polish and Belgian Kimberly Zimmermann won in the first round with third seed Xu Yifan and Haoxuan Yang.
