Maja Chualinska, ranked 225 in the WTA rankings, will have to wait for victory on the lawns in Roehampton. On Wednesday, Dąbrowski faced Clara Borrell (WTA 142), ranked with number 31. The French woman is a match for the Polish woman. In her youth age, she fought with Iga Świątek, lost at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, but won the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. At the end of the 2018 season, she triumphed at the ITF Junior Masters and became the best young woman in the world.
Burel’s professional career was different from that of Chwalińska. The activists of the French Tennis Federation helped her by giving her wild cards. Thanks to this, among other things, to the third round of the Roland Garros 2020. The Polish woman could not count on such support and had not yet gained such experience. Additionally, her adventure with tennis is hampered by several health issues.
So Borrell was the favorite in Wednesday’s first-round match of Wimbledon 2021 qualifiers and showed it on the field. However, she had to work hard to win. In the first set, she did not win in the 10th game and led Chualinska to break the tie. In this match, the pole defended three set pieces before the opponent took the fourth opportunity.

The Tri-color representative started the second batch with a 3-0 lead. Then she could have increased her supremacy in the sixth game, but our tennis player defended the serve. Chwalińska then missed the attack and made up for the break. From 4 on the field, however, Burel had an advantage, which by breaking in the 10th ended the match.
The French won 7: 6 (5) and 6: 4, and in the second round of qualifying for Wimbledon 2021, she will meet American Sachia Vickery on Thursday. Chwalińska has to wait to win the qualifying round and debut on the main ladder of the Grand Slam competition.
