Visit of the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine at the Ministry of Education and Science

April 20 this year. Tomas Rzymkovsky, MEiN’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke with Vera Ruhova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The meeting was devoted to the education of children and youth from Ukraine in Polish educational institutions and cooperation between the two ministries for young refugees who continue their education in the Ukrainian education system.

Poland is trying to support students from Ukraine who want to study in a Polish school. We also support students and scholars from Ukraine. Deputy Minister Tomasz Rzymkowski said refugees can benefit from the same educational conditions as Polish citizens.

In turn, Deputy Minister Vera Ruhova thanked the Polish side for the assistance provided to the refugees. She was briefed on the current educational situation in Ukraine, including the extent of the destruction of school infrastructure and plans to rebuild it after the end of the Russian aggression. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science also introduced the way the Ukrainian educational system works in wartime conditions, including preparations for the entrance examination for studies in 2022.

During the meeting, the topic of bilateral cooperation, among others in the field of inclusive education and education for the national minority, was also discussed.
