Ambassador Marek Magierowski arrived in Washington on Wednesday, where he took command of the Polish embassy in the United States. The diplomat will replace Pyotr Wilczyk.
The embassy’s Twitter account reported Magirovsky’s arrival.
“We are pleased to announce the arrival of the new Polish Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Marek Magierowski, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the Polish diplomatic presence in Washington,” the tweet wrote.
Magierowski, who had previously served as Poland’s ambassador to Israel, replaced Pyotr Wilczyk, who had been chief of mission in Washington for 5 years and whose assignment ended at the end of October. Meanwhile, charge d’Affairs Adam Krzyuzudzky performed his duties.

The new Polish ambassador to Washington was in the past a journalist including. “Rzeczpospolita”, after which he was also director of the press office in the President’s Chancellery and Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
