Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said Monday in London that Russia’s actions in Ukraine are state terrorism, and if the Kremlin is not stopped, it will attack other countries as well.
He noted that since February 24, when the Russian invasion began, at least 150 Ukrainian children have died, more than 400 schools and kindergartens and more than 110 hospitals have been destroyed.
After a meeting with his British counterpart Ben Wallace, Reznikov said: “This is state terrorism. Therefore, the Kremlin must be stopped, otherwise it will go further. It will attack other countries.” He called for further tightening of sanctions against Russia.
Reznikov thanked Great Britain for being the first to deliver “dangerous weapons” to Ukraine. “Your role is special, and your courage and spirit stand in stark contrast to the passivity of some other countries,” he said. During his visit to London, he also met with Secretary of State Liz Truss.
The British government supplied Ukraine with 3,615 NLAW hand-held anti-tank missile launchers, 2,000 of which were before the Russian invasion. Last week he confirmed that Starstreak MANPADS are also being donated, and previously spoke of a small group of Javelin MANPADs. On Sunday, during a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that his government would continue military assistance and asked him to assess needs in the field of military equipment (PAP).
