Rohan Dennis won the Tour de Romandie introduction.
Australian cyclist Rohan Dennis won the introduction to the Tour de Romande, a solo trial at Oron-la-Ville. The following places were taken by his teammates from the Ineos Grenadiers team – Britain’s Geraint Thomas and Australia’s Richie Porte.
Dennis, a two-time World Championship gold medalist previously in this competition, outperformed them on the four-kilometer road by 8 and 9 seconds. The Italian world champion, Filippo Ganna, of the Ineos Grenadier team, was ninth, 15 seconds behind.

The race consists of an introduction and five stages, and it contains the highest class on the World Tour. It will end on May 2 in Friborg. The Poles did not start.
Last year, the Tour de Romandie was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Primoz Roglic of Slovenia won the Swiss race.
