The qualifying matches selected the participants in the final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup 2022. There is no German team in this group that lost to Kazakhstan. Andżelika Kerber (WTA 17) suffered two losses. In the third game, the previous standings leader squandered his 5:3 lead in the deciding set and lost 6:4, 3:6, 5:7 to Jelena Rybakina (WTA19). Thus, for the first time, Kazakhstan qualified for the final tournament.
After three matches, the fate of Italy’s match with France was decided. The team’s promotion from the Apennine Peninsula was secured by Camila Giorgi (WTA 30), who used six of her 12 break points and broke 6:2, 6:0 Harmony Tan (WTA 107). A similar situation occurred at the Spain meeting, which dealt with the Netherlands during its absence. The win was sealed by Sarah Sorribes (WTA-49), who changed five out of nine break-out chances, defeating Arantexa Ross (WTA 74) 6:0, 6:4.
There was a lot of excitement in Prague, as doubles were needed to determine the match between the Czech Republic and Great Britain. In the third match, Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Markta Vondrosova (WTA 32) smashed US Open champion Emma Raducano (WTA 12), 6:1, 6:1. Harriet Dart (WTA 101) tied it 2-2, defeating Linda Frohvertova (WTA 170) 6:0, 5:7, 6:2. The Brits could have won in two sets, as they were leading 6-0, 5-2 and had three match balls. In the doubles, Karolina Muchova and Vondrosova won 6:1, 7:5 dart and Katie Swann. The British set out in pursuit and in the second set with a tie of 1: 4 with 4: 4, but they did not change the course of this confrontation.

The Ukrainian women, who lost 0-2 to the Americans after the first day, showed a great will to fight. Dajana Jastremska (WTA 93) and Katerina Zwaka (WTA 201) tied. The first defeated Jessica Pegula (WTA 14) and the second defeated Shelby Rogers (WTA 46). The result of both matches was the same, that is, 6: 3, 6: 4. The American team did not panic and got a place in the final tournament in the doubles. Asia Muhammed and Pegula won 7:6 (3), 6:3 by Ludmica Kizinuk and Jastrimska. The Americans scored three breaks and 9 aces.
Latvia played in Vancouver without Jelena Ostapenko and Anastasia Sevastova, who suspended her career after the Australian Open. The Canadians easily coped with their weak competitors. The point of significance of the promotion was scored by Leylah Fernandez (WTA 21), who smashed 6:2, 6:1 Daniela Vismane (WTA 267). The US Open finalist saved two break points and took advantage of five of his eight breakout opportunities.
The team had to score at least three points to win the match. In the event of a tie after the singles matches, the doubles were decisive for the final result. Twelve teams will play in the 2022 Billie Jean King Cup Final. Eight were selected on the basis of qualifications (Poland among them). Australia, Slovakia, Switzerland and the team that gets a wild card will complete the stake. The exact time and location of the competition is not yet known.
