From April 1 to May 31, you can send the organizers, creators and initiators of the most interesting historical projects for 2020 in the 14th edition of the “Historical Event of the Year” poll, the Polish History Museum reports. Applications are accepted in the following categories: event, exhibition, and education.

“The Polish History Museum, in cooperation with the portal historyia.org.pl, announces the referendum + the historical event of the year + for the fourteenth time, which aims to honor the organizers, creators and initiators of the most interesting historical projects of the past year” – informed MHP.

Applications are accepted from April 1 to May 31, 2021 via the website www.whr.muzhp.pl.

The Polish History Museum stated that in the first phase individuals, institutions, organizations and cultural centers present projects in three categories: event – i.e. festival, external event, conferences and seminars, group of events (book, exhibition, website, paintings), historical reconstruction, and archaeological excavations. , Presentations, social campaigns, etc.; Exhibition – any new permanent or temporary exhibition, electronic exhibition, museum opening, etc. Education – meaning educational projects (such as workshops, lessons, and educational games), publications, storyboards, electronic / multimedia events (movies, audiobooks), website, mobile apps, etc.

In this year’s edition of the referendum, projects can be submitted online in all categories.

“To submit an event, go to the Plebiscite website www.whr.muzhp.pl, read the rules and enter the tab + Submit Project +. Each applicant is entitled to submit a maximum of one project in each category. Then the jury selects the last fifteen” – explained in MHP version.

In the second phase (July 1 – August 31, 2021), the list of fifteen winners (5 from each category) will be published on the online polling site and internet users will select their types through it. This is the first referendum of its kind in the country, and its winners are chosen by jurors and Internet users.

As with every year, the referendum will end with a ceremony during which the results will be announced. During the ceremony, short films are shown on each final project, then the voting results are revealed, the winners are presented in the above-mentioned categories, and the organizers’ representatives hand them small statues designed by the Krakow artist Maciej Zjikovic. The remaining twelve will receive diplomas and book awards.
