On clay courts in Prague, Szymon Walków appeared with Francisco Cabral, who was very successful in competitors alongside Nuno Borges. The Polish-Portuguese duo reached the final by losing the group. In Saturday’s title match, the duo faced Tristan Lamasin and Lucas Pouille.

In the first set of Walków and Cabral, they did not give any chances to their opponents, winning with confidence 6: 2. In turn, in the second batch, the Polish-Portuguese duo allowed the French to return from 0: 2 and the tie break proved to be the decisive. In this match, I got nervous when our actor and his partner missed some matches. In the end, they won 6:2, 7:6 (12).

Walków won his ninth ATP Challenger Tour doubles championship, the first of the 2022 season. Cabral has nine of them as well. He won the previous eight hand in hand with Borges. For their performance in Prague, they will both receive 80 doubles ranking points and a check of 2,670 euros to be shared.

Łukasz Kubot also introduced himself in Prague. The former leaderboard returned to competition in March after an injury, but has yet to score any major wins. In the Czech capital, he took part in the challenge with Robin Haas. The top-ranked Polish-Dutch duo beat for the first time the duo of Karol Drezewski and Piotr Matuszewski 7:6 (5), 6:4. But in the quarter-finals, France’s Yvan Furness and Britain’s Ryan Benniston were better.

Kubot and Haase will continue to work together next week. This time they will participate in the ATP 250 competition on clay in Estoril, Portugal. Also playing here will be Jan Zielinski and Hugo Ness.
