Logicor has announced the start of construction of a strategic logistics facility for pet food manufacturer Royal Canin. The new investment will help the company expand its operations in Europe.
The project in question involves the purchase of a stand-alone plot of land and the construction of a modern Class A warehouse, which will be adjacent to the existing Royal Canin facility near Krakow. It is a strategic step in the development of the Royal Canin Niepołomice factory, which currently serves 24 European and Asian markets.
The 26,500 square meter facility will provide Royal Canin with a new and flexible space that will support its long-term development. The depot will use sustainable solutions, such as solar panels for utility water heating, electric vehicle charging stations, smart metering systems and greywater fixtures. The plan is also to have a BREEAM Very Good Very Good (or equivalent) certification, in line with Logicor ESG policy. In addition, the facility will be equipped with innovative technologies that will fully automate the movement within the warehouse.
The advantage of the facility will be its strategic location – 22 km east of the center of Krakow, with direct access to the A4 motorway.
Agnieszka Sadowska, Director of Supply Chain CNE at Royal Canin PolskaHe said, “With the ever-increasing demand for Royal Canin products and our ever-growing needs for warehouse space in Poland, we will soon reach our limit at our current location near Krakow. With this investment, we will secure space for the future development of our business, space for new opportunities, better efficiency and lower emissions than Carbon Dioxide.2. “
Michał Ptaszyński, Logicor office manager in PolandHe said: “Customers need experienced partners to implement comprehensive projects that combine land purchase, facility construction and property management. The investment in Royal Canin Polska is a modern, efficient and sustainable storage space perfectly adapted to the development needs of our customers. This project is a reflection of Logicor’s forward-looking strategy – creating long-term partnerships that provide a flexible space and create unique value for both parties.”
