Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak won all the special stages in WRC 2 during the extremely challenging Saturday stage of the Safari Rally! Representatives of the LOTOS Rally team avoided mistakes and, in excellent style, struggled not only with their rivals, but also with the very difficult conditions in which they had to fight. Before the final stage, they lead in their class and have a huge advantage, but there are still six special stages on Sunday and more than 75km ahead of them. in the wild.
The LOTOS Rally Team rode in style today, winning all the special stages of the stage in WRC 2, which will go down in history as one of the toughest stages. The special stages themselves along the Kenya wilderness were a tough ride, and when it rained during the afternoon, the crews began fighting for survival and making it to the finish line. Huge puddles and mud stopped more cars whose crews had to withdraw from competition. The Poles did their best, avoiding mistakes, and made it to the end of the day, leading in their class with an advantage of more than 20 minutes and taking ninth in the Safari Rally general classification, behind the Rally 1 class cars.
– This is a safari rally. I knew how difficult it was before we came here, and only yesterday and today confirmed it to me. In the end, stones and dust everywhere met with rain and mud. It was really slippery, and we couldn’t clean the tires in the drier areas. I’ve never had to deal with such circumstances in my career and that’s why I’m so happy to be here, because we’re done with this day and driving it. The advantage is great, but we can’t be sure of anything until we cross the finish line. Six more demanding special stages are waiting for us, including the strength stage, where I’d like to fight for extra points. But the most important thing is to finish the race in the first place and that is our goal. I am proud of the work and commitment of the entire team, but we must maintain that focus to the end – commented Kajitan Kajitanovic, LOTOS Rally Team Representative.
There are three exams that will be passed twice on Sunday. These will be: OS Oserian (17.81 km), OS Narasha (21.47 km) and OS Hell’s Gate (10.53), which will be the last Power Stag during the second round. In total, the length of the march is more than 363 kilometers.
Kajetan Kajetanowicz’s beginnings are backed by the strategic partner of the LOTOS Rally team – Grupa LOTOS, as well as the technical partner of Delphi Technologies, Pirelli, SJS Driving Experience and Grupa Sikora.
