After losing in the first round, Rakić started catching up in the next round and won it. After 10 minutes of fight of the night, UFC Vegas 54 was tied – 19-19.
Jan Bachovich in the fight against the Austrian produced a lot of low kicks, which certainly weakened the legs of his opponent. However, the Vienna rider admitted three weeks ago to an injury during the training camp that he was hiding when entering the octagon.
“There was a big fight in the Octagon tonight, but unfortunately it didn’t end like Jean and I or the fans wanted. The same damned injury from three weeks ago resurfaced tonight. I felt like I won both rounds, the first round was close.. but the second round was just mine. Then it opened well until at 3 before my knee gave up […] Congratulations to Jan and I wish him all the best. I’m going to take care of this injury and come back to an injury you’ve never seen me before. This is an endless battle between me and Jan and I hope the UFC will give me a second match,” Rakesh wrote on Instagram.
Aleksandar Rakic suffered a second defeat in the UFC. Earlier on the undefeated field left, among other things, former title contenders Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos.
