Until March 24, applications from Poznan residents wishing to participate in the “Change Your Backyard” campaign, organized for the twelfth time, will be accepted. In April, program participants will design, and in May and June, rebuild and green local spaces.
In the announcement of a Poznan judge, he stated that the measure was carried out within the framework of the municipal revitalization program. This year, for the twelfth time, the “Change Your Backyard” program targets users, owners and managers of both public and non-public areas, such as multi-family apartment buildings or parts of squares, streets, squares or residences located in the center of Poznan.
The work is divided into two stages: design and field. The first will be implemented in April in remote mode. Participants will, under the supervision of experts in shaping green spaces, prepare concepts to develop and revitalize their local spaces.
According to the judge, the projects will be implemented in early May and June. It was emphasized that in addition to consultations with professionals, campaign participants can also rely on educational materials on “nature-based solutions” and prizes such as plant seedlings, garden soil, rainwater harvesting devices, and small architectural tools and elements.
Katharzina Parisik-Kasprzyk, deputy director of the Office for Coordination of Projects and Revitalization of the City of Municipal Office, confirmed that the campaign organizers want to combine the idea of involving residents in caring for the surrounding area with activities for more.
