The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw will rent 2,000 square meters. In the Hillwood Warszawa Targówek investment, which will make it possible to secure the owned collections
The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, which presents the art of the 20th century and is created today, was established in 2005 by the Ministry of Culture, and since 2006 it has been jointly managed by the City Council of the capital, Warsaw. from Warsaw. In 2017, MSN opened the Vistula Museum activity, that is, the exhibition space on Vistula Boulevards. In 2019, construction of the museum’s new headquarters began in Plac Defilad. The building, designed by New York architect Thomas Pfeiffer, will open to the public in 2023.
During its 16 years of operation, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw has collected more than 1,000 works. Therefore, it was very important for us to modify the optimum storage facilities, which will allow us to secure appropriate storage conditions and care for preservation for all of our collections. These aspects are necessary not only to accumulate and expand the collection of artwork, but also to expand its availability. An undoubted advantage is also the high quality of the space and the ideal location of the warehouse center – says Hubert Kowalski, Head of Operations at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
Warehouses in urban logistics also provide interesting opportunities for less typical tenants of this type of space.
– The rental deal concluded by the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw is a great example of the fact that cultural institutions also need professional storage facilities of an appropriate standard. These expectations are met by the investment of Hillwood Warszawa Targówek, which is not only a modern distribution center, but also an urban base for local institutions and businesses. It is, among other things, the possibility of adapting part of the warehouse to the needs of conservation activities and the attractive location of the new park, which contributed to MSN’s selection of the municipal warehouse in Hillwood in Targówek,` confirms Piotr Chabracki, Consultant in the Warehouse Leasing Division, JLL.
Hillwood Warszawa Targówek is a modern warehouse park, consisting of two buildings with a total area of more than 49,000 square metres, located in the eastern part of Warsaw, about 10 kilometers from the city center and 15 kilometers from Chopin Airport in Okcie. The city’s warehouse center is located 6 km from the S8 motorway and 8 km from the National Road No. 2, which provides good access to the main communication roads. Warszawa Zacisze Railway Station and bus stops are located nearby. The convenient location makes the new warehouse area well connected to the capital and other parts of the country.
– It is an honor and a great pleasure for us to be able to cooperate with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. For a long time, we have been noticing a growing interest in modern warehouse space on the part of organizations working in very different fields – including cultural institutions such as theaters and museums. Modern Class A warehouses are constantly evolving, in terms of building standards and equipment — says Katarzina Obikowska, director of business development at Hillwood Polska.
– An important argument when choosing our facility is the location of the city with proper connection with the center of Warsaw. It will also allow MSN to quickly move artworks to the newly built headquarters in central Warsaw – adds Katarzyna Obikowska.
