Poland’s achievements in the recent European U-17 and U-19 pentathlon championships, which were held in Krakow, have increased to six medals. Katarzyna Dubska and Hana Jakoboska won gold in the girls’ under-17 relay.

For Dębska and Jakubowska, this is the second medal he has won in Krakow, having previously taken silver in the team competition. Today in the relay they didn’t give their rivals a chance. They were already on top after the first competition. The time in the pool was 2:05.20. The two Ukrainian women, Elizaveta Reznik and Olesya Lazarenko (2:05.63), achieved the second result, and Spain’s Enya Lichuga and Mirela Vasquez came in third. The second Polish couple, Hanna Matusek and Zuzana Grado, took 16th place (2:22.39).

The advantage of Polish women in losing the group was not great, but our girls not only defended it, but also significantly increased it. On the finish line, Dębska and Jakubowska were the first unchallenged, while second Britons Chloe Johnson and Lucy Hatfield lost 19 seconds. The pair from Great Britain, Elizabeth Ryan and Zoe Spocks, also took third place, but according to the regulations, the bronze medals were awarded to the French Agathe Chastagner and Alana Saints, fourth in the finish line. Matusek and Grado have moved on to the laser and will drop to 13th.
