On Monday, rain spoiled the plans of the organizers of the Hassan II Grand Prix competition, and the two-stage qualifiers could not be completed. All went well on Tuesday. Mirza Pasic, Bowie Koto, Vit Kopriva and Damir Dzumhur have passed the qualifying round. This is the first Bosnian 30-year-old who will be the opponent of Kamil Majsharzak in Wednesday’s first-round match.
Piotrkowianin reached the main category based on its place in the ATP classification. Majchrzak has played with Basic twice before. In 2017, he lost to him in the Davis Cup match held in Zenica, but in the 2018 season he played the rematch in the Tashkent Challenge. A duel over the Moroccan meal is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. court time 5.
On Tuesday, 12 matches of the first round of the main tournament were held. Top seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, who was given a wild card by the organizers, defeated Moroccan Elliot Benchetrit 6:3, 6:3 in the opening ceremony. The Canadian’s opponent in 1/8 will be Slovakian Alex Mulkan, who lost only four matches in the fencing with Italian Stefano Trafaglia.

Daniel Evans, who left number two, quickly bid farewell to the event. The Briton isn’t doing well with a brick meal, and on Tuesday, three-time Moroccan champion Pablo Andujar stood in his way (he won twice in Casablanca – 2011 and 2012, and once in Marrakech – 2018). The veteran Spaniard won 6:4, 6:2. His next opponent would be Belgian David Goffin or Dzumhur.
In the first round, number four Albert Ramos was also eliminated. The Spaniard lost to the almighty Italian Lorenzo Mussetti 6: 7 (5), 1: 6. Argentine Federico Delbonis (No. 5) and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (No. 7) also suffered defeats. The latter’s fighter, Argentine Federico Correa, might be Magscherzak’s opponent in the 1/8 final stage.
