The grand opening is scheduled for the summer. However, the museum space will not resemble a classic museum. It will be a wonderful visitor land, inspired by the fairy tale “Krzesiwo”. The writer’s most famous story, in which a brave soldier managed to conquer a witch.

“This museum is a gift for Hans Christian Andersen. Thank you for everything he taught us,” said the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma in charge of designing the new museum, who as a boy absorbed eagerly the fairy tales of the Danish writer. . Which is why his design is as close as possible to the way Andersen created the fairytale world.

Although the design itself assumes simple and pure architectural forms, typical of Japanese aesthetics, the whole thing is to give the impression that visitors are immersed in Andersen’s fairy tales. Therefore, lights, sounds and images play a big role here. The museum itself will consist of a magical garden, an underground part of the museum and the building itself, which will take visitors into the dreamlike world of a fairytale.

The interactive space will be a far cry from seeing a typical museum. It will be a land for visitors where they will be able to solve puzzles and access the world of their favorite fairy tale heroes. The main objective of this adventure is to encourage you to access Andersen’s fairy tales again.

“This museum doesn’t talk about Andersen. It talks like Andersen. Proof that fairy tales are as alive and relevant today as they were in the nineteenth century when they wrote it. Step into Andersen’s literary world – a storyteller – an attractive artistic world a space where architecture operates Gardens and galleries come together to create a new meeting space between the visitor and the fairy-tale world of Andersen. Here, imagination, curiosity and joy are key, they encourage reflection and a fresh look at nature, society and ourselves ”- the museum on its website encourages the visit. (PAP life)
