Google Maps received its first update in 2021. The US giant seems to be working hard to improve Android and Android Auto apps. This week the company released new updates for both its stable and beta test apps.

Google Maps will change unrecognizable

Changes at the moment are barely visible, but they are extremely important for a number of reasons. As for the beta version, this is the first part of version 10.59. So there is a possibility that Google will make bigger improvements to implement it.

On the other hand, the latest stable release is 10.58.3, so it’s just a minor patch to previous version 10.58.2. There’s a good chance that some issues with Google Maps will be fixed. Unfortunately, the giant didn’t share the change, so it’s just a guess at this point.

However, the new 10.59.0 beta indicates that something really big is about to happen. Google has been working on several improvements to Google Maps recently, including the much awaited Driving Mode which is only available on Android devices.

The new Driving Mode was announced with great enthusiasm at the end of 2020. The app is to transform your smartphone into a complete package, similar to Android Auto. This will give users a whole new experience behind the wheel of their cars.

Google Maps is now a major component of the driving experience. It should provide easy access to phone calls, music app, Google Assistant, and everything important in the car. This will be done via an interface similar to Android Auto.

However, the new mode is still in the testing phase and is only available to Android users. For now, however, no other details are available. However, everything indicates that early European users will soon receive their versions for testing.
