Hyundai’s new electric vehicle and battery manufacturing facility is valued at approximately $5.54 billion. The new plant will become operational in early 2023 and commercial production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2025, with an annual capacity of 300,000 units.
The battery manufacturing facility will be set up as part of a strategic partnership, details of which will be revealed at a later stage.
Hyundai plans at the plant to manufacture a wide range of electric vehicles for US customers. Details of these vehicles will be announced at a later time.
The facility in Georgia will be a smart manufacturing facility. All production processes – order selection, procurement, logistics and production – will be optimized with artificial intelligence. The innovative production system will also help create a human-centered work environment, where robots help workers.
