Samantha Stosur has already completed her singles career, but continues to compete in doubles and mixed play. On Thursday, she appeared in the Wimbledon final in a variety format. Her partner was Matthew Ebden. The Australians’ competitors are Neil Skopsky and Desira Krausek, the runner-up. The British and Americans won in a ratio of 6:4, 6:3 and defended the title.
There was one break in the first set, which Skupski and Krawczyk scored at 6:4. In the second half, Stosur and Ebden scored the break point at 2:1. From that moment on, the initiative belonged to the title defenders. The British and Americans won five of the next six matches and extended their reign on the grass courts at Wimbledon.
Within 87 minutes, Skupski and Krawczyk provided six aces. They scored 33 of 44 points on their first pass. The British and Americans defended four out of five break points and used all three of their breakout opportunities.

Ebden and Stosur, the Dutch seed, were sent off Jan-Julian Roger and Japan’s Ina Shibahara on their way to the finals. This was the second joint final for Australians at a Grand Slam. At the 2021 Australian Open, they lost to Czech Barbara Krijkova and American Rajiv Ram.
Stosur twice won Wimbledon in a mixed match, in 2018 (with American Bob Bryan) and 2014 (with Serbian Nenad Zimonjic). In this major, she also won the 2005 Australian Open (with her compatriot Scott Draper). In his achievements, the Australian has won four Grand Slam titles in the doubles and one in the singles. The most valuable victory at the 2011 US Open was after defeating Serena Williams in the final.
Ebden is the 2013 Australian Open winner with Jarmila Wolff. For the Australian, it is not yet the end of Wimbledon 2022, as he will play in the doubles final with Max Purcell.
Skupski and Krawczyk defended their Wimbledon title in a mixed match as the first duo of the 21st century. Czechs Cyril Sok and Helena Sokova (1996, 1997) were the last to do so. The American is still winning at Roland Garros and the 2021 US Open. In both tournaments her British partner was Joe Salisbury.
