Bloomberg and Reuters have reported that Ukrainian authorities have once again become the target of a cyberattack. The websites of banks and many government departments are not working.

At around 4 PM, a massive new DDos (Distributed Denial of Service – Editor) attack began on our country“- said Mikhailo Fedorov, Ukrainian Minister for Digital Transformation in Ukraine, citing Interfax. Many government and banking websites do not work.

Fedorov reported on his Telegram channel: In Ukraine, there is a large-scale DDoS attack on the websites of state bodies, including the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He added that access issues related to diverting the flow of information to another vendor “in order to reduce the damage caused by the attack.”

A similar attack occurred exactly a week ago. Then it was described as the greatest in history. Then the DDoS attack affected government portals and the banking sector.

It was another cyber attack that the Ukrainian authorities dealt with recently. The former was recorded on January 14th.

After the February 16 attack, The Washington Post reported that Hackers commissioned by the Russian government infiltrated the military, energy and other computer networks of security importance in Ukraine to collect data needed in the event of an invasion by Russia.

The newspaper referred to information from US intelligence.
