Fines of up to £ 10,000 for breaching these isolation and quarantine rules
People who fail to self-isolate when needed can now face hefty fines of up to £ 10,000.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has warned that police resources will be used to verify compliance in higher infection areas and in at-risk groups on a “local intelligence” basis.
She added that low-income people who couldn’t work from home and lost income as a result would also be eligible for a new test worth £ 500 and pay tracking support.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the government would “not hesitate” to take further measures if case numbers continue to rise.
He added, “Anyone can be infected with the Coronavirus and anyone can spread it.
“We all have a critical role to play in reducing the number of new infections and protecting our loved ones.
“As the cases rise, it is imperative that we take action, and offer a statutory duty of self-isolation when prompted, with fines for violations and a new subsidy amount of £ 500 for low-income people who cannot work at home while they are isolated.
“These simple steps can make a big difference to curb the spread of the virus, but we will not hesitate to take further measures if cases continue to rise.”

Fines start at £ 1,000 and can go up to £ 10,000. Higher numbers are for repeat offenses or serious violations.
