Earlier in the day, Queensland State Health Secretary Stephen Miles said some words to federal politicians who criticized the Queensland state government’s border restrictions.
Former Prime Minister and Immigration Minister Scott Morrison and current Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton have identified recent cases in which people have been denied medical exemptions or exemptions to enter the country, or have been delayed.
He said, “You have the prime minister, Peter Dutton, Matthias Corman, almost every block in the federal government comes out and attacks you.” “These three men, none of them are known to be sympathetic.
“You all reported that Scott Morrison almost cried over Ray Hadley, but has he ever cried about the hundreds of people who died in hospice under his watch?”

Two children contract Covid-19 in Queensland
Two girls are among the new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Queensland.
The state reported three new infections with the virus as of Saturday. One of them is a man in his twenties, and two children under nine. All three are in quarantine and are in contact with the confirmed cases.
State Health Secretary Stephen Miles said the man was linked to the outbreak of correctional services in Queensland, while the girls were in contact with the Brisbane Youth Detention Center.
“Our last case was out of quarantine on Tuesday and that of course is the main indicator from now on as to whether we have dominated this group,” said Miles.

Before the day’s arrests, Victoria Police issued a total of 109 fines over the 24-hour period through Saturday morning.
Twenty of these were for not wearing a face covering.
An example of abuse is a man and woman who are at a friend’s vacation home on the Mornington Peninsula where they have planned to stay for the weekend, a man traveling from Ascot Valley to Kissboro has objected to picking up a mattress he found cheap on Facebook and two hanging women. Exiting at Tarneit Train Station without good reason.

The United States and Israel voted against a UN resolution for a “comprehensive and coordinated response” to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision included recognition of the leadership role of the World Health Organization, according to Agence France-Presse.
The resolution was adopted by a majority of 169 countries out of 193.
The text, called a comprehensive resolution because it covers multiple aspects of the epidemic, is known for the key leadership role of the World Health Organization and the essential role of the United Nations system in stimulating and coordinating the comprehensive global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The United States withdrew from the World Health Organization this spring, accusing the body of mismanaging the coronavirus pandemic and delaying the launch of a global alert.
The text calls for intensifying international cooperation and solidarity to contain, mitigate and overcome the pandemic and its consequences.
Before the vote, the United States tried unsuccessfully to remove a provision on protecting women in the area of sexual and reproductive health, over objections to abortion.
Libya and Iraq also voted in favor of deleting the paragraph. However, more than 120 countries voted to retain it and 25 countries abstained.

In sports news, Cricket Australia has obtained special permission for players to train in Adelaide Oval during quarantine, according to AAP reports.
The team, currently based in Manchester in the UK, will return to Australia soon, but it was not known which city they would travel to.
Perth was the front runner early on, but Western Australia made it clear that players would be in dire hotel closures for two weeks.
South Australia has now confirmed that players and staff will remain at the Oval Hotel, which was built on the east side of the Adelaide Oval.
The hotel and grounds will become a biosecurity bubble under a proposal activated by the South Australian government, the Adelaide Oval management and the South Australian Cricket Association.
“CA is committed to creating a safe and successful summer and today’s agreement with the authorities in South Australia is a positive step towards achieving this,” said Nick Hockley, interim chief executive of CA.
“The health and safety of the South Australian community is our top priority and guiding principle in our planning.
“There is a lot to look forward to this summer, and a lot of work is being done behind the scenes to ensure that happens.”
The arrangements will likely apply to other players, including the visiting Indian team, who will be arriving in Australia later this year.
The series of four Test runs between Australia and India is currently scheduled to begin in Brisbane from December 3-7, but competitors are now expected to start this series in mid-December at the Adelaide Oval.
