Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting restrictions, there have been problems playing UEFA Champions League matches. Also affected was Atletico Madrid’s match against Chelsea, which was not possible in the Spanish capital.
Initially, two sites were given more chances to host a UEFA Champions League match. The options were Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn and National Arena in Bucharest. My favorite match was in Romania.
However, on Monday, there were voices that the Atletico Madrid-Chelsea London match would be held in Warsaw. This information was provided by Sky Sports Channel journalist Angelo Mangiante. The decision was to be taken the same day.
Just before 17:00, beIN Sports ‘Tancredi Palmeri said on Twitter that the successful match for the 1/8’ Atletico-Chelsea Finals will be held in Warsaw. The match is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 23 February at 21:00.
Earlier, for the same reason, UEFA decided that the Leipzig match against Liverpool would be held in Bucharest.
