Evacuation of people from Afghanistan
It is reported that the air bridge established by Western countries, which was in operation from August 14-30, did not succeed in evacuating all the Afghans who were threatened with repression, Agence France-Presse reports.
Earlier on Sunday, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told Welt am Sonntag that they want to maintain “healthy diplomatic relations with Germany”. Merkel did not comment on this statement and did not mention the establishment of any official relations with the Taliban.
