The International Committee for Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) today announced the winners of the Best Tourism Promotional Film 2021 competition in a webcast from Valencia.

This is the 33rd edition of this contest. According to CIFFT, more than 3.3 thousand films from more than 90 countries entered this year’s competition for film festivals around the world. These events form what is called a CIFFT circuit.

An international jury evaluates films for creativity, originality, and visual effects, among others. Earned prizes are converted into points giving access to the CIFFT rating. The films are grouped into six categories: cities, regions, countries, tourism services, tourism products, and independent productions. The three best productions in each category, which ranked first, second and third, are the best travel videos of the year.

The organizers of the competition assert that the video is an indispensable promotional tool that helps to form links with tourists around the world in a difficult period for tourism. Today, video is one of the main pillars of tourism revival. There are no other means, whereby venue and service providers can reach the hearts and minds of future customers, CIFFT Director Alexander Camille says in the statement.

The competition is held under the auspices of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the European Travel Commission (ETC) and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), among others.
