From 1 October, most people entering the UK will need a valid passport. Entry for ID card will be applied to only a few.

While Britain’s “divorce” with the EU was already completed several months ago, we can still see some remnants of the old “relationship”. One of them is the possibility of crossing the border on the basis of ID cards. This privilege ends.

As the Polish Embassy in London states, what I reported “seasons“, From 1 October, entry to the UK will only be possible on the basis of a valid passport. However, the new law has a few exceptions. First of all, we are talking about travelers with a status of residence or temporary settlement in the UK, who obtained it on the basis of an ID card. They will be able to travel on the basis of an ID card at least until 2025.
