Petra Martic (WTA 42) failed in the professional courts for several weeks. The last time she won two matches in a row was in May when she reached the quarter-finals in Parma. In Portoroz, the Croatian was the top seed and exited in the first round after losing 3:6, 4:6 against Kaja Jovan (WTA 103). Both players had eight break points in the 86th minute.
