The change mainly concerns the three masses that Francis will celebrate in Prešov, Kosice and Stadina on 14 and 15 September. Earlier it was announced that there would be a rule imposed, as confirmed by the bishops, by state authorities and that only vaccinated persons would take part in meetings with the Pope. Those interested in participating in the prayers presided over by Francis had to attach vaccination certificates during electronic registration.
Under the changed rules, people who have currently tested negative for the presence of the coronavirus or have passed Covid-19 in the last 180 days will be able to attend the ceremony. There should be separate sectors for them. Registration, as of Monday, will still be required. This requirement, like the changing rules, also applies to believers from Poland who wish to participate in the papal liturgy.
The change concerns the Pope’s visit organizers’ hope to increase the number of people interested in meetings with Francis. According to the latest information from the spokesperson for the Slovak Episcopate, Father Martin Kramara, about 50,000 people have registered for these meetings so far. vaccinate people.
