Another 43 people died from the Coronavirus in Greater Manchester hospitals on one of the deadliest days in the second wave of the pandemic.
The total number of hospital deaths associated with covid-19 in the region now stands at 4,089.
In the past 24 hours, 13 more deaths have been recorded in the Wrightington, Wigan, and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
There were nine more deaths in the University of Manchester’s NHS Trust, while the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust each reported five more deaths.
Pennine Acute NHS Trust Hospitals recorded four more coronavirus-related deaths, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust recorded three deaths and one more died in Christie.

Nationwide, another 416 people who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in hospital in England.
Health Services England said on Wednesday it was bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 47,399.
The patients’ ages ranged from 32 to 102 years. All patients, except for 15, were between the ages of 37 and 90 years old, and were aware of underlying health conditions.
The deaths were between April 19 and December 22.
